This is what I came upon in front of the post office early today. You can imagine my surprise. At one point they began preaching loudly and a policeman shut them up. There were only 3 crazies, but that's more than enough to draw a crowd. As I exited the PO, I paused for a few minutes to take in the scene - and snap a few pics. Of course, it's the Lyndon LaRouche crowd and as long as I watched no one was buying what they were trying to sell. At one point the crazy woman in the pic chased after a couple who made the mistake of looking back at the table of pamphlets. Gotta grab every opportunity, even if it really isn't one.By noon the temperature had reached 94' and when I looked across the street fr
om job #2, they had already packed up and moved on. Granny's Death Panel would have to wait. Too hot, I suppose.And BTW, this is a f**king beach resort town, fercrisakes! Why weren't they peddling their propaganda in DC, or Baltimore, or Wilmington?

Don'tcha wonder sometimes - how did we get all these crazies? Given their ages, were they crack babies? Did they play hookie from school for 12 years? Was there something in the water? Is this the lingering effects of bad acid in the 60's?
ReplyDeleteThe Republican's discovered through Karl Rove (and this is his genius, as much as I hate to compliment the Turd Blossom) is that they know that a certain percentage of the American public will believe anything as long as it fits in with their preconceived notions. This is also the genius of Faux....er the Fox network. Unfortunately the Crazies will always be with us, especially now that there is a black family in the White House and they feel "their country" is lost to them. What is really crazy are the loonies who are bringing firearms to town hall events, including Obama's. What in the hell is going on in this country?
