It Is NOT Obamacare!

It IS the Affordable Care Act  - or the ACA.

For the record, it was dubbed "Obamacare" by its opponents and unfortunately, thanks in great part to those who still oppose the act, and the mindless media, the name has taken hold.

But the Affordable Care Act is no more Obamacare, than Medicare is Johnsoncare. And no one in the UK calls their National Healthcare Services by the names of those who championed it - Atlee & Bevin-care.

I just had to get this off my chest.  The Obamacare label suggests that it's temporary, when it's  not.

So, as a New Years resolution, if you need one more, stop calling it what it isn't, and instead, call it what it IS.

Thank you and Happy New Year.

And so it goes.

  1. at spouse's office, they too have been told to call it the ACA when speaking with customers. seems the customers are too damn stoopid to associate the wordACA with "obamacare". so the use of the term ACA gets more people to agree with its principles.

  2. Actually, Obama finally embraced the term Obamacare to change it from a "negative" slogan to a positive one that "Obama cares." And he does.

  3. I sit back and watch this subject being played out with deep concern, and sometimes not a little despair. I'll refrain from saying any more, other than "Good luck!" - as well as an exceedingly 'Happy New Year' to you too.
