    Apparently I made a big mistake recently that I do not even know what it is and apparently that person isn't going to tell me either. I'm left wondering and confused and apparently will never be given the chance to correct it.

  3. Fearsome: I don’t know you and I don’t give advice. I will say, since I am old enough to be your father (now cut that out!) this has not been uncommon in my life. It usually boiled down to something like “well, if you don’t know what you did, I am not telling you, so there.” Very helpful, indeed. I usually let it go and if they come back, fine and good. If not it wasn’t worth the effort, anyway. We can expect some of that as a teenager, but once an adult it gets old, pretty damned fast.
    Sometimes we need to step away from things (or people) that are no longer useful, or are toxic. Who cease to bring joy and happiness to the friendship.
