Just a Thought: A Stagnant Truth.

How far does loyalty and American Patriotism take you when a young, supposedly heterosexual soldier is ordered to rape (FUCK) anally abuse teenage boys?  Forget whether the acts were performed in front of family members, or not. It’s the very act that matters.

Just following orders! (?) Foul, evil, conniving, self-righteous.  Humans enjoy nothing more than the act of harming other humans

Does it take this sick behavior to finally stop you in your tracks to say, “this, my entire way of life, has been a vast red-white-blue lie.”?  Does it?  Even a little bit? No wonder more and more of our soldiers and hurting. There are secrets to keep, they bought into the lie, too.

Yes, by all means, let’s offer a free ride and safe passage to George Bush and Dick Cheney, but do everything possible to draw-and-quarter the likes of Edward Snowden for drawing attention to their crimes, and others.

All humans are truly pathetic, dangerous creatures. We’d rather harm others who suffered as we have, than to banish that suffering and those who ordered it in the first place.

I am sick.

Just a Thought: Taliban

ORIGINAL CAPTIONED PHOTO REMOVED

The quote attributed to Reagan was in fact, true: "These Gentlemen are the moral equivalent of the founding fathers."   It's just wasn't made about the Taliban.

Sorry for the misinformation.  Thanks to Buckeyein Richmond for setting me straight. When I checked this out I didn't go deep enough and for that I am sorry. Close, but no cigar.

Here is the best explanation I could find to bring it all together. from Business Insider:

As the public debates some of the more controversial ways the US deals with foreign policy and safety, it's prudent to remember some of the less than fruitful foreign policy items where America invested its time and money.
This photograph is from 1983, when Reagan and the CIA were dancing around the idea of arming Mujahadin fighters in order to fight back against Soviet incursion in Afghanistan. The result was a well-armed, well-trained group of jihadis who resisted (some say defeated) the onslaught of superior Soviet weaponry.
Once the Soviets retreated, the U.S. lost interest and pulled the funding. Osama bin Laden took interest, and filled the vacuum, later fathering the Taliban.
The rest, as they say, is history.
Often erroneously paired with this photo is a Reagan quote, "These gentlemen are the moral equivalent of the founding fathers."
Reagan was in fact referring to Nicaraguan fighters and another initiative to arm them, this time against the U.S.'s own treaties.
We all know how that worked out as well.
Whomever Ronnie was referring to were certainly not at all like the founding fathers of these United States.

Mary’s Going to Hell!

Along with her diner and more than a few customers. She’s paying folks who pray in her restaurant, and the baby Jeebus says that’s a no-no. She’s being the worst kind of hypocrite. See, it’s like this:

A North Carolina diner is offering a very different sort of discount to its customers, the prayerful ones.
Mary’s Gourmet Diner in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, is offering a 15 percent "praying in public" discount. Owner Mary Haglund confirmed the discount to The Blaze on Friday saying that she has actually been offering the rebate for four years now. The discount, which she said is not aligned with any singular religious affiliation, hasn't been advertised and is offered per the discretion of the waitstaff.
“[W]hen I see someone in a restaurant honoring their gratefulness at my table … it touches my heart," she told The Blaze. Adding: "It’s just a moment or faithfulness about the plate of food. It’s not even a policy — it’s [something] we only do when we’re moved to do it.”
The praying in public discount gained attention this week after Christian radio station Z88.3 posted a photo of a customer's receipt to its Facebook page.

Here’s the problem: Matthew 6 v. 5-6

“And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.
But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

Now praying alone doesn’t really count anymore.  How does anyone know that you’re REALLY doing what you say?  Who can tell you’re a Xristian if you don’t pray publicly to prove it?

But as we all know good Xristian Xrazies love to save a buck or two, so what’s to keep them from sitting down, putting their hands together and pretending to chat with big daddy in the sky? I mean, who would know? Besides, they can always put that 15% savings in the collection plate next Sunday…yeah, like that’s going to happen.

Never mind then, Hell it is!

And so it goes.

*
P.S. Remind me to tell you sometime about the Xrazy clergy person I worked for who never went anywhere without the dog collar.  Oh, the money he made/saved. And nothing to do with the baby Jeebus!

Scientists: BP Spill Much Worse than People Think.

Don't believe the commercials and the "it's all cleaned up" propaganda
from BP.  Not if you know anyone in the areas impacted by the spill, or read the scientific data.

Yes, just as BP stalls again files yet another appeal with the SCOTUS (story here) essentially crying “foul and unfair” - again - this report is released by Climate Progress at Think Progress:
Scientists at Penn State University have discovered two new coral reefs near the site of BP’s historic 2010 oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, and the impacts to those reefs from the spill have been greater than expected, according to research released Monday.
The two additional reefs found by the PSU team were both farther away and deeper than the one coral reef that had previously been found to have been impacted by the spill. That indicates not only that marine ecosystems may be more greatly affected, but that some of the 210 million gallons of oil that BP spilled into the Gulf is making its mark in the deep sea.
“The footprint of the impact of the spill on coral communities is both deeper and wider than previous data indicated,” PSU biology professor Charles Fisher, who led the study, said.

The rest is HERE. Includes a conversation with Prof. Fisher and more.

BP commercials continue to saturate TV and radio in New Orleans and the Gulf with their lies and propaganda, but folks who know better just sluff it off because, well, they know better.

And so it goes.

GOP Self Destruction is Complete

From Ana Marie Cox (the original Wonkette) at the Guardian. This is one reason I read the European news outlets.  You wouldn't see stories like this one in the American press anymore:
Conservatives are stuck in a perpetual outrage loop. The reappearance of Todd Akin, the horror-movie villain immortality of Sarah Palin, the unseemly celebration of the Hobby Lobby decision – these all speak to a chorus of "la-la-la-can't-hear-you" loud enough to drown out the voice of an entire generation. Late last week, the Reason Foundation released the results of a poll about that generation, the millennials; its signature finding was the confirmation of a mass abandonment of social conservatism and the GOP. This comes at a time when the conservative movement is increasingly synonymous with mean-spirited, prank-like and combative activism and self-important grand gestures. The millennial generation has repeatedly defined itself as the most socially tolerant of the modern era, but one thing it really can't stand is drama.
Republicans were already destined for piecemeal decimation due to the declining numbers of their core constituency. But they don't just have a demographic problem anymore; they have stylistic one. The conservative strategy of outrage upon outrage upon outrage bumps up against the policy preferences and the attitudes of millennials in perfect discord.
We all can recognize the right's tendency to respond to backlash with more "lash" (Akin didn't disappear, he doubled down on "legitimate rape"), but it seems to have gained speed with the age of social media and candidate tracking. The Tea Party's resistance to the leavening effect of establishment mores and political professionals has been a particularly effective accelerant. Palin's ability to put anything on the internet without any intermediary has rendered her as reckless as any tween with a SnapChat account. Akin's whiny denouncement of Washington insiders is likely to make him more credible with a certain kind of base voter. The midterms are, as we speak, producing another round of Fox News celebrities, whether or not they win their races: the Eric Cantor-vanquishing David Brat, Mississippi's Chris McDaniel and the hog-castrating mini-Palin, Jodi Ernst of Iowa.
The rest is HERE.

Abandonment - Rejection

I have intimate knowledge of both subjects, from the beginning of my life.

My mother abandoned me when I was three days old. Rejected me completely and never nursed me, held me, or otherwise showed interest in me. I was raised by my mother’s mother & father for most of the first 16 years of my life. No more details than that right now.

Throughout my life there’ve been many rejections and more than my share of abandonments; the most recent and last (until now) was the deceitful ending of my 30 year relationship, losing any share of what  we had built together over those 3 decades.

So after 8 years of peace, surrounded by trustworthy folks I suppose I was due for another slap in the face. This from the person who saw me through the breakup, gave me strength and emotional support, accepted the role of executor of my will, emergency contact and medical power of attorney JIC.

Those roles were important to me coming out of a dark period of serious illness when the curtain finally fell on the previous life. I felt safe and comfortable; first knowing that this person had been a nurse, and second that clergy was also part of their list of accomplishments.

That sense of comfort and serenity was shattered last August when I found myself facing the current illness and close to death.  When the hospital staff called this person at my request this person denied knowing anyone by my last name (which I am sure the staff bungled anyway, they always do), but still, how many people could this person know with the same first name had as emergency contact in such small town, and with a recent history of serious illness? Not many, I’ll wager.

I confronted the person on this and was told the hospital got it all wrong and had no idea who I was by the description. OK.  But, No.  That doesn’t cut it.

It has been 7 months since I’ve heard any word from this person.  No call. No email. No visit. No nothing. So, I composed a short, straightforward note asking if our friendship was over and if so, to please have the courtesy to let me know - and posted it to their FaceBook page.  And Man!  Did I get a response!!!
I have no idea why you posted that hateful note on my FB page - especially since I have sent you two get well cards, sent you a Christmas card, and left at least a few phone messages for you. I even stopped one day at your apartment and knocked on the door. No answer. I simply thought, since I didn't let you know I was coming and did so just on impulse, that you were out and I had missed you. I was happy thinking that at least you weren't confined to your house. Then, I thought perhaps I had said or done - or not done - something to upset you. I thought perhaps you were depressed and did not want to see anyone right now.  I thought you would contact me when you were ready. I had no idea it would be like this. Even so, you have been in my personal prayers. I have removed your angry post from my wall. If you need to contact me, please do so privately. There is no need to spew your anger all over FB. It only makes you look bad. You also have my phone number - cell and home, I believe. If not, here they are again: ---------- (cell) ---------- (home). Let me know if and when you'd like me to be in contact.
My note wasn’t hateful or angry, just to the point. I guess it’s all in the perspective of the reader. Here’s the most hurtful - the lying part:
* They’ve never been to my apartment.
* My car is always directly in front of the building and easily recognizable by the Dos Locos bumper sticker. In my condition walking is out of the question.
* It’s fairly impossible that three greeting cards to the same person from the same person would get lost while all other cards and mail arrived in good order.
* There is a telephone in the kitchen and next to the bed.  Even on my worst days I am grateful for a phone call from anyone interested in my well-being.
* The best part and biggest lie: No messages could have been left because I have neither voice mail nor an answering device on my phone line. It’s a flat rate, basic local calling service - and no bells and whistles.

Oh, and there is always the matter of this blog. It’s been on their blogroll for years, but clearly never bothered to read or check it out.  Truly bad form and such pitiful lies.

The reason for my initial note was ignored completely, instead of answering my questions the ball is tossed back into my court and I am told to call if I want to make contact. Only do it privately, not on FB.  Like that’s going to happen.

I already made initial contact, and it was rebuffed. If I make another one it will be on FaceBook, as well, and I know they don’t like that idea.  Too public.

I will take that as the real message here and move on. No more anger, shock or disappointment. Now only sadness that I miscalculated once again. I’d sure like to be right once in a while.  That’s all.

And so it goes.

She Did the Right Thing - For Once!

The Harpy milked this controversy for all it was worth, for as long as possible. Finally did the right thing.

Heads exploding everywhere.  Snoopy Happy Dance here.

Indeed.  Now I can plan a visit to Dr. Spo, Someone, and Harper (not Harpy, that's Brewer) in Phoenix.  Not that one was in the stars, mind you, but it's grand to have the option once more.

Found these two quotes online this morning @ JMG and thought I'd post them too.  One of these papers is owned by Rupert Murdoch...can you guess which one?

It's all in how you look at it, isn't it.

New Blood and the Old Medical Merry-Go-Round

Turns out that I really, truly needed a transfusion yesterday.  Only had one unit on-hand.  Dizzy, short of breath, and nausea are usually the give-aways.  But, they came on fast, hard, and all at once.  Took a while to absorb the new juice and get balance back.

Because of the possible damage to my innards by the corticosteroid, a prescription for Protonix was called in, which they insist will protect the stomach and reduce acidity.  It's been years since I've had heartburn, gas, or indigestion.  Since changing my diet all that discomfort is a thing of the past.  But, I'll pick up the drug, JIC I do need it down the road.

On the way home I stopped at the Eye Institute on the off chance of getting a quick eye exam and prescription for new glasses.  Never been there before and I must say it is a horrible place, staffed by people with horrible attitudes, who have a rigid way of doing business - no diverting from the protocol set, seemingly, in stone.

The interior looks more like a government building, or a bank.  Dark wood panelling, brass and leather everywhere, and a 'reception area' that looks like a series of bank teller windows. The women receptionists never made eye contact, half listened to a question, then interjected irrational company policy. Stifle all questions, why dontcha!

The only time I made eye contact was when I asked about quick exam and a copy of the prescription, which I would have filled elsewhere. She shot me a look as if I just said "I have pee'd on your rug here."  More rehashed rhetoric was all that was forthcoming. So, I left, as she yelled after me to fill out an application for an appointment which would take about a week to verify.

Application?  Verify?

WTF!  I'm not looking for a fucking loan, lady, just new glasses. I waved her off. I wasn't about to go back for an explanation after the rude and arrogant behavior. All I need is an exam and prescription.  No $300.00 frames to go with them. I can order lenses and frames online - get 3 pair for less than that #300.00. Including overnight shipping for an extra $10.00.

I snagged a bottle of Merlot to enjoy with supper least evening as I headed back to town. While I was pretty dizzy and uncomfortable I was going to pay another visit to the boardwalk before going home. It began to rain as I neared town however, so that put a damper (so to speak) on that idea.

So, I've spent hours on the Google only to discover that I do, indeed, live in a wasteland for fast, convenient medical care. That includes eye care, too. Nothing within a 30 mille radius. The nearest big chain stores are in Philadelphia or Wilmington, and I am not in shape to make that drive. They also don't do exams anymore, but partner with Optometrists nearby, who perform the exams while the Lens Crafters or Sterling Optical folks only fill the prescriptions.  Nice set up - - - for them.

Getting an appointment with local optometrists has proved fruitless.  Seems no one works on Saturdays or Tuesdays. (Are they Optometrists or Hairdressers?) Most don't even have an exam request line for a call back to schedule an appointment.

Annoying, to say the least.  But, yes - it is what it is.

Began gathering documents for the 2013 tax returns. Everything is chaotic here, though  I always try to keep all tax stuff together in one folder.  Made it about half way before getting really tired and the beginnings of a headache. I made a quick supper, had a glass of wine and felt better.  Was in bed and fast asleep by 8 pm.  Nice, that.

After a nice breakfast, I finished gathering the tax stuff.  Packed it up, and got it ready for the Post Office on Monday. The PO closes at Noon on Saturdays. One more day isn't going to hurt. Besides, I'm feeling a lot better now.

Today is absolutely stunning outdoors.  Blue sky, light breeze and a high of about 65'F.   I'll take it. I'll also take a ride down to the boardwalk for a little sunshine and warm breeze to end the week on a high note.

And so it goes.

Healthcare Only Money Can Buy!

The results are in.  We do not have a winner.

Specialists in stem cell research and surgery in 3 of the east coast's best institutions have refused treatment. They will not even see me for evaluation to consider one of the three options suggested for a future course of treatment.

They will not see me because I don't have personal insurance - only Medicare - even though Medicare will pay for 80% of whatever course treatment is chosen. Told straight away (no beating around the bush) to the oncology coordinator working to secure such a meeting. Blatant discrimination?  Maybe, but it is what it is. And sadly, it's not uncommon.

This shocked the coordinators handling my case.  They couldn't believe what they were hearing. The person who told me was near tears as she related her conversations with various staffers of the specialists in question.

Only one specialist offered to see me, provided I paid my 20% up front.  Makes no sense, I know, because how much would a simple office consultation and evaluation cost.  That said, they wouldn't suggest treatment options unless I signed a waiver relieving them of any blame should their suggested option cause my death.  What?  Yes, I know.

Originally, the three treatment options were, 1) An Allogeneic Stem Cell (non-matching) transplant, 2) take part in a recurring JAK-2 Study dedicated to people suffering with myelodysplastic syndrome, and 3) Vidaza, a mild chemo, I gather, given by IV or injection 5 consecutive days monthly. It has been successful in treating certain types of bone marrow and blood cell disorders.

That's all we were asking for in the consultation.  A sort of second opinion, so to say. No more and no less.  But...No go.

At this point it appears the option has already been chosen for me. The Vidaza treatments can be administered locally, so no traveling to Maryland or Pennsylvania 5 days every month.

The treatments, if successful, would begin to show any improvement in 3 to 5 months after treatments begin. I have an appointment to see the oncologist next week to discuss the situation. My gut feeling is that he was looking for someone else to make the decision for treatment, but now it's back in his lap.

Having another phone conversation with the coordinator this morning, I suggested that Vidaza was the best option all round. She agreed and said she would pass that information on to the doctor.

On an Historical Note: For many years I had my own health coverage through NY Life and it was excellent coverage for the times. Then, in 1996 my partner of 20 years, was offered domestic partner benefits through his employer. At this point we were in great health, owned a home in NJ and a town-home in Rehoboth, so it was decided to drop the additional expense of my policy with NY Life and go with the other plan.  It provided better coverage and a lower co-pay for just about everything.  Ten years later he walked out and the insurance coverage went with him.   The End!

Yesterday was another day spent at the Center; first for blood draw, CBC count, and then another transfusion. Many of the nurses, having already heard the rejection stories, assured me that they were not surprised - had heard it all before - and shared my opinion regarding the Vidaza treatments.  That was comforting.  I guess I'm on the right track, at least in my own mind.

I mean, what options are left to me?

I turned off music in the car, drove home in silence, chose supper food, then made a very, very, very large martini - with 3 olives!  It didn't kill me.  In fact, I felt one hell of a lot better during and after the cocktail.

And so it goes.

Please, Tell Me Again About the NEW South.

When I first heard about this story I must admit I threw up a little in my mouth. It brought back many ugly memories of growing up in the deep south.  On the recent New Orleans trip I came face-to-face with some of those memories, which I plan to share in the near future.  Anyway...

But having learned that the humanoid wannabe behind the comment/slur was none other than that tin-foil hat wearing Texas Senator, Pete - "Privatize Social Security" - Sessions, I can't say it came as a surprise. I mean, it could have come from any number of knuckle-dragging mouth-breathing Sons of the Sunny South, but Short Bus Sessions continues to live up to his well deserved reputation.  At least he's consistent.

REID TOLD CAUCUS PETE SESSIONS WAS BEHIND OBAMA INSULT.WASHINGTON -- Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) told his Democratic caucus last week in a private meeting that a top House Republican said to President Barack Obama, "I cannot even stand to look at you," according to two Democratic senators who were present.
The account was confirmed by two Senate Democratic aides who said they independently learned of the exchange from other senators.
A White House official said Thursday that the administration did relay such a message to Reid, but that it was the result of a miscommunication.
“While the quote attributed to a Republican lawmaker in the House GOP meeting with the President is not accurate, there was a miscommunication when the White House read out that meeting to Senate Democrats, and we regret the misunderstanding," the official said in a statement.
Asked to clarify, then, what the White House meant to tell Senate Democratic leaders about Obama's meeting with House Republicans, the official said only, "Not going to read out the details of private meetings with the President, or private meetings between WH and Dem leaders."
The two senators who spoke to HuffPost did not hear the Republican make the remark, but said a top White House aide who was present during Obama's meeting with Republicans later told Senate Democratic leaders that the lawmaker who made the remark was Rep. Pete Sessions (R-Texas), the chairman of the House Rules Committee.
Reid relayed the story to the entire Democratic caucus on Tuesday, Oct. 15, and named Sessions, according to one of the two Democratic senators who spoke to HuffPost. Reid also told the caucus that he was “sorry” to have to tell them about it, per this senator, but gave Obama credit for his “dignified” response to Sessions. Reid reportedly told the caucus that Obama responded to Sessions by saying he understood that they disagreed on many issues and he respected their differences.

Even if there is a quick cover-up and denial this incident ever happened,  many of us know down deep inside that, Yes, it could - and probably did.

So don't be fooled, any reference to the new South is wishful thinking laced with propaganda.  Just scratch the surface and out pops a Southern Gentleman still living the Plantation mentality.  The old South is alive and kickin'. And that's the way they like it.

Just my 2-cents, plain.

And so it goes.

It's Over! Lessons Learned?

I don't think so.

The delusional are still in denial, but the bullying has been smacked down. The whole world has been watching, shaking its head and saying WTF?  Thank you Mr. President for not caving in.

Now that the National (International?) embarrassment is coming to an end, lets make some tea, move on, and remember the bullies at election time, shall we.

Naming Hurricanes: The Climate Name Change

This is a great idea.  Instead of naming violent storms after innocent people, why not name them after the policy makers (past and present) who deny what's happening to the planet.
Yes, I know it's late.  But I had to get up to shower and eat something substantial. If I am not back to full strength in the morning, I will consider asking for a ride to the ER to find out what's happening to my body.

Response to a Bigot's Response to Marriage Equality

These people are dumber than a box of rocks.  No offense to the rocks. This delicious smackdown is from Delaware Liberal:

They are calling for the immediate repeal of the marriage equality law, I suppose not realizing that the 12 Senators and 23 Representatives are not going to repeal a law they fought hard to get passed. And apparently not realizing that once civil rights are expanded to new groups and classes of people, they are hardly ever rolled back. Indeed, the Hate Amendment in California is the only example I can think of, and even that attempt is about to be struck down as unconstitutional by the U.S. Supreme Court.
Here is a rescued comment from one Ecia. I moderated her (or his) comments on the prior Marriage Equality thread because she (or he) started spamming the thread with this drivel. But I decided to highlight this comment to reveal how bigoted and stupid the opponents of equality are.
Here is her (or his) comment:
Calling For Repeal SB75:
As The State Government has completely ignored the legitimate concerns of the People of Delaware, there is an urgent call for A Special Election to REPEAL SB75 or to do something to correct this unjust law that Desecrates God’s Word.
Let me stop you there. The General Assembly ignored your bigotry. They did not ignore the legitimate concerns of the People of Delaware. To the contrary, they addressed a very legitimate concern: equality for all. What is it with conservatives thinking they always speak for all the people of the state or country. And they loudly pronounce that they are speaking for all the people and all the people agree with them. They doth protest too much. They know their minority and bigoted views are not shared by the majority anymore and it scares the living shit out of them, so they have to scream louder that they do speak for all, I guess thinking that if you shout a lie loud enough and often enough it turns out to be true. But I digress…
Second, a special election? Did a Representative or Senator die or resign? No. So there can be no special election. But Ecia is talking about a referendum here. Thankfully, we don’t have referenda in Delaware. Not because I fear losing a referendum. In fact, the forces of good and equality would win such a vote. I just don’t think it is right to have a vote on someone’s rights. How would you like it Ecia if we voted on whether you could get married to the one you loved?
“A just law is a man-made code that squares with moral law or God’s law” If necessary, I am prepared to go to jail before complying with any law that so blatantly desecrates the most sacred gift from God, The Institute of Marriage.
Unless you are a Clerk of the Peace, as a citizen this law does nothing to you. It does not force you to comply with anything. You do not have to become gay married now. You do not have to become gay now. You even don’t have to stop hating gays now. But I guess because you are such a hateful evil bigot you are incensed that gays get to get married and live happily and be accepted in society now, and your living with that fact without doing something to stop it is “compliance” in your book. So go ahead. Do something stupid and violent. Get thrown in jail. Your incarceration will please me greatly.
Thankfully, these folks are dying off.
Go and read the rest HERE. Some of the comments are quite funny, too.
And so it goes.

Weary of "What If's"

"What If?  "If Only..."
You know, if I had a boat, I'd go rowing. This is second-guessing at its very peak. Sandra Day O'Connor:

Now she tells us. More than 12 years after the fact, retired Justice Sandra Day O’Connor said it was probably a mistake for the Supreme Court to hear Bush v. Gore and anoint George W. Bush as president of the United States.
“It took the case and decided it at a time when it was still a big election issue,” Justice O’Connor told the Chicago Tribune editorial board on Friday. “Maybe the court should have said, ‘We’re not going to take it, goodbye.’”
She continued: “Obviously the court did reach a decision and thought it had to reach a decision. It turned out the election authorities in Florida hadn’t done a real good job there and kind of messed it up. And probably the Supreme Court added to the problem at the end of the day.”
The result, she allowed, “stirred up the public” and “gave the court a less than perfect reputation.”
Justice O’Connor’s comments, as fascinating as they are, have to set some kind of record for detachment (she calls the court on which she sat for 25 years “it” — avoiding the more apt “we”) and also for understatement.
Granted, we don’t know for sure whether Justice O’Connor wanted to take Bush v. Gore. Only four justices have to agree to hear a case. But we do know that she sided with the majority on the actual decision, which stopped the recounting in Florida and gave a one-vote majority in the Electoral College to the man who lost the national popular vote. The ruling was a huge stain on the court’s reputation because it appeared to be — may well have been — blatantly partisan.
Sandy, baby, the public was already stirred up by the giant f**kup that was Florida. I am tired of the "maybe we shouldn't have done that" hind-sight stuff anymore. You did it.  It's done. You can't change it.
Now Shut Up!

And so it goes.
