Christmas Food Court Flash Mob

I've been wanting to post this, but today just seemed the right day for it. Voices are perfect and the faces on the kids experiencing this, probably for the first time in their lives, show joy and wonder at the beauty of it all. I would love to experience one of these myself.  Wouldn't you?  Enjoy.

It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas. G*d knows we can all use some joy in this world.

More later.

  2. I've seen the videos of such flash mobs and of those doing the Hallelujah Chorus, but seeing this one, I had an interesting reaction (beyond "it's beautiful" and I love the song).
Growing up I was taught that one *always* stood up whenever one was in the presence of a performance of the Hallelujah Chorus. This was tradition. Supposedly King George stood up when Handel first performed Messiah. (The spin was that ole George was standing out of respect for the Christ; but some have suggested that he just had fanny fatigue from sitting through the long performance.) Anyhoos... When the King stood up, the people stood up, and people have stood up ever since. I noticed in this video, most people except the singers did not stand up. I think I noticed a couple of older people standing and not singing. I happened to run this by my wife and she had never heard of the tradition of standing. I was McDoof'd.
